Holy reading skills, Batman!

In an effort to promote literacy at Lakeview Elementary School in Meadow Lake, principal Dawn Paylor and vice-principal Amanda Pockrant agreed to sleep in a tent on the roof of the school if at least 85 per cent of students returned a completed reading log to their teachers by last week. When the final numbers were tallied, close to 91 per cent of students complied. As a result, Paylor and Pockrant – seen here dressed in Batman onesies – made good on their promise and slept on the roof of Lakeview on the night of Sept. 24. The next morning, students gathered in the school yard to wake the “Dynamic Duo” up, at which time the two put on a brief show along the edge of the rooftop before it was time for classes to begin.
